About Yogathrive

This program was originally developed by Susi Hately-Aldous and has been academically studied by the Health Research Collaborative (an applied research program between Red Deer College and Alberta Health Services) as well as by the University of Calgary.

About the Instructor

Suzanne Blackwell (YAA, David Swenson TT-40 hrs, Doug Swenson YA TT-500 hr, & Calm-Steady-Strong TT).

The class is being taught by Suzanne Blackwell, a yoga & fitness instructor who took specialized training with Susi Hately-Aldous to teach this course (Susi is a kinesiologist in Calgary who developed the original Yogathrive program; pilot study results published in the Journal of Psycho-Oncology).

Suzanne was inspired to take the training by witnessing the amazing resilience, fortitude, and courage of students in her “regular classes” who were going through (or completed) cancer treatment or were impacted by the treatment of a loved-one!
